Draft of my article

Wavey J

Starz: Wavey J, how do you feel this year has gone so far?

WJ: Yeah you know I feel as though I’ve made a lot of progress this year, not only as an artist but as a person, you know? I’m still quite early in my career and feel as though I’ve come a long way, but got a long way to go, just take one day at a time and keep learning and getting experience in the music game.

Starz: How do you feel you’ve developed as an artist?

WJ: Well I think that I’ve had a lot of support from producers and beat makers who will always give me feedback on how to improve my music and my beats, recently I’ve tried to improve my flow, I want to stand out from other artists you know?

Starz: What are you aiming for in the upcoming months?

WJ: At the moment the only thing im focused on is making big tunes, with the mixtape coming out in august im in the studio quite a lot.

Starz: Do you have a busy lifestyle?

WJ: Well yeah, the music industry is a very busy by itself, let alone the extra stuff, I’ve got a daughter on the way so that makes things a lot more hectic, trying to make time for family and music can be difficult at time, but you know im blessed to have loving people around me so I don’t see it as too much of a strain.

Starz: Any exciting collabs coming up?

WJ: Yeahh got some big tunes coming up with a few up and coming MCs, it’s always good to be able to have people who can enhance your sound, I mean the talent on the mixtape this year is madness! although I want to develop myself as an artist, it’s good to know im helping others progress in the music industry as well.

Starz: What the best thing about being an artist?

WJ: The fans have been amazing the whole of this year the support has been overwhelming; I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for my fans so I owe them a lot.

Starz: Do you ever get nervous?

WJ: To be honest I used to, but now I’ve got the feel for performing I just learn to embrace it and enjoy it really.

Starz: How has your life changed?

WJ: Obviously im a lot wealthier than before, but the most important thing is to be humble after all im blessed to be in this position and am thankful to god for it.

Starz: What’s your advice for the youth trying to make it?

WJ: in all honesty, im not going to lie and say ‘do this and you’ll make it’ because that’s just not how it works, but if you believe in yourself and are passionate about what you’re doing, you stand a way better chance!

Starz: Thankyou for speaking to us J, good luck with the mixtape.

J: Been a pleasure talking boss, I’ll catch you next time bro.
